José Manuel San Román Pérez is a renowned podiatrist in Alicante with more than four decades of professional experience. Backed by a successful and extensive career, San Roman was a pioneer in Spain and Europe in the use of percutaneous foot surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
Initially, she graduated in Nursing from the University of Alicante, and later, she obtained a diploma in Occupational Medicine. Finally, in 1976, he graduated in Podiatry from the University of Barcelona. In 1986 he completed the Fellowship in Ambulatory Foot Surgery by the American Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery (ACFAS), in 1992 the Master in Podiatric Surgery by the UB and in 1994 he obtained the title of Supervisor of Radioactive Facilities by the Nuclear Board of Spain.
Since 1979, San Román Pérez has directed the San Román Clinic in Alicante, where, among others, he is a specialist in podiatric surgery, percutaneous foot surgery, minimally invasive surgery, hammer toe, claw toe or study of the footprint, among others. It should be noted that José Manuel San Román was a pioneer in Europe and Spain in the use of percutaneous foot surgery and minimally invasive surgery. He has attended numerous national and international congresses and seminars in the specialty, and is a member of the Research and Study Group of Foot Surgery(GRECMIP), member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). Ankle Society(AOFAS), member of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry(ABMSP), member of The Royal College of Podiatry(Royal College of Podiatry), member of the Spanish Association of Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery(AEMIS), also member of the Spanish Association of Podiatric Surgery(AECP) and member of the Academy of Minimally Invasive Foot & Ankle Surgery(AMIFAS).
