Do I have to be admitted to the hospital for surgery?
No. The percutaneous surgery we perform is completely ambulatory. It is performed in our own clinic under local anesthesia in approximately 45 minutes. Once completed, you rest briefly and return home the same day without hospitalization.
How long does recovery take?
With the percutaneous technique the recovery is significantly shorter than with traditional surgery. Most patients can walk (with special footwear) from the next day. In 4-6 weeks they can usually resume their usual activity. The complete follow-up is performed in our clinic.
Does the operation hurt? What about the postoperative period?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, which numbs the area of the foot. Before operating, the doctor explains what you will notice during the procedure. The postoperative period of percutaneous surgery is much more bearable than that of traditional surgery: the discomfort is minimal and perfectly controlled with standard analgesics. Most patients are pleasantly surprised.
Can I have surgery on both feet at the same time?
